Salesforce expands AI agent portfolio

Salesforce has released seven specialized AI agents designed to automate workflows across sales, customer support, and internal operations, the company announced today. Most features are immediately available, with remaining capabilities launching by year's end.

The rollout represents a significant expansion of Salesforce's Agentforce platform, which now includes agents for distinct business functions alongside enhanced orchestration tools that allow multiple AI agents to collaborate on complex tasks.

Sales-focused agents target B2B and retail

Three of the new agents address sales workflows. Hunter assists business-to-business sales teams by identifying leads, drafting outreach emails, preparing presentation materials, and generating proposals. The agent incorporates a "long-horizon runtime" module that enables it to develop extended work plans and maintain context across multiple chat sessions—a capability Salesforce says is essential for B2B deals that can take weeks to close.

Piper and Carter are designed for website integration. Piper greets B2B prospects and routes them to appropriate salespeople, while Carter helps e-commerce retailers answer product questions and includes an embedded checkout widget for completing purchases directly within chat.

Support and operations agents

Customer support teams gain access to Casey, which handles tasks like processing product returns, and Fin, an agent built on technology from Salesforce's $3.6 billion acquisition earlier this year.

For internal operations, Paige addresses HR inquiries and IT support requests from employees, while Marshall automates repetitive supply chain tasks.

Developers can customize agent behavior using Agent Script, a programming syntax that allows teams to mandate specific workflows for critical tasks. Salesforce positions this as a guardrail against AI hallucinations.

Enhanced orchestration capabilities

Alongside the new agents, Salesforce updated Agentforce Coworker, an existing AI tool embedded in several of its cloud services. The update introduces Multi-Agent Orchestration, which enables Agentforce Coworker to divide complex requests among specialized subagents. New optimization features continuously improve subagent output quality, while AI Skills functionality simplifies customization of task execution.

The long-horizon runtime currently available only in Hunter will eventually extend to other agents, according to Salesforce.
