Rockwell Automation has launched an API-enabled integration connecting its Plex Quality Management System with FactoryTalk Analytics VisionAI, bringing AI-powered visual inspection capabilities directly into quality management workflows.
The integration, available now, addresses a fundamental limitation in manufacturing quality control: traditional visual inspection methods achieve only 80% effectiveness and typically fail to maintain comprehensive inspection records, according to details first reported by PR Newswire.
Closing the quality gap
The combined platform enables manufacturers to deploy AI-driven inspection workflows across new and existing camera systems. When FactoryTalk Analytics VisionAI detects anomalies or defects, results flow automatically into the Plex QMS environment, creating a traceable record that includes product serialization and complete inspection history.

Plex also now includes an embedded AI agent within its Reporting and Analytics tools. The agent provides natural language interaction with operational data, enabling users to surface risks and predict issues through conversational queries rather than manual dashboard configuration.
