Three warehouse automation companies unite under new ownership

American Industrial Partners has completed its acquisition of Honeywell's Warehouse and Workflow Solutions business, bringing Intelligrated, Trew, and Transnorm together as a single organization. The newly consolidated entity will focus exclusively on warehouse automation solutions across retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, distribution, and parcel operations.

Alfred Rebello has been appointed CEO of the combined organization. According to Supply & Demand Chain Executive, which first reported the details, Rebello emphasized that the merger represents more than a simple consolidation of companies.

"It's about creating a future built entirely around our customers' success," Rebello stated. The unified structure aims to deliver expanded capabilities and stronger execution while maintaining existing customer relationships.

Why it matters

This consolidation creates a vertically integrated warehouse automation provider at a time when industry research projects double-digit growth in the sector through the 2030s. By combining complementary technologies and expanding service capacity under one roof, the merged entity can address the full spectrum of automation needs — from initial design through long-term support — without customers needing to coordinate multiple vendors.

Comprehensive automation portfolio

The merged organization brings together distinct areas of expertise from each predecessor company. The combined portfolio now spans systems integration, conveyor systems, sortation technology, robotics, automated storage and retrieval systems, palletizing equipment, software platforms, controls, and lifecycle services.

The consolidation also expands the organization's manufacturing footprint, engineering resources, and service capacity. This infrastructure positions the company to handle larger-scale projects and provide more comprehensive support throughout the automation lifecycle.

Growth strategy for expanding market

Rebello characterized the merger as a deliberate growth strategy aligned with market expansion. He noted that industry research consistently forecasts double-digit growth rates for warehouse automation continuing into the 2030s.

Meeting that demand will require ongoing investment in innovation and close attention to customer needs, according to Rebello. The organization plans to measure success based on customer trust earned throughout every phase of their automation journey.

The three companies previously operated as part of Honeywell Technologies before the AIP acquisition. Now functioning as an independent entity under private equity ownership, the organization can focus exclusively on warehouse automation without competing priorities from a larger conglomerate structure.

Details of the transaction were reported by Supply & Demand Chain Executive.
