Automation Anywhere Launches AI Procure-to-Pay Solution

Automation Anywhere has released its agentic Procure-to-Pay solution, expanding the company's Autonomous Finance suite with technology designed to orchestrate the full procurement lifecycle across disconnected enterprise systems.

The solution addresses a persistent challenge in corporate finance: procurement processes that span multiple systems where a single issue can trigger cascading delays. According to details first reported by CXO Today, the new offering acts as an intelligent coordination layer connecting procurement, ERP, finance, and supplier platforms without requiring organizations to replace existing systems of record.

How the solution works

The agentic Procure-to-Pay platform coordinates work from vendor onboarding through requisition, purchase orders, goods receipt, invoice processing, and payment tracking. When exceptions arise, a built-in AI assistant identifies issues, surfaces relevant context, and recommends corrective actions to accelerate resolution.

"Every exception that requires human investigation, every invoice that stalls in a queue, every approval that waits on a handoff is a strategic tax on the business," said Vikram Khosla, Chief Financial Officer of Automation Anywhere. The solution aims to automate routine tasks and govern exceptions, freeing finance teams to focus on strategic work like spend analysis, supplier relationships, and demand planning.

The technology builds on the invoice-processing engine behind Automation Anywhere's Accounts Payable offering, which has helped customers achieve up to 90% straight-through processing rates—meaning nine out of ten invoices move through the system without human intervention.

Integration with OpenAI's reasoning models

The Procure-to-Pay solution extends the collaboration Automation Anywhere announced with OpenAI in January, combining OpenAI's advanced reasoning models with Automation Anywhere's agentic architecture. This approach brings enterprise context and governed execution into core finance processes.

"This is the first part of the story we're bringing to market from the vision we announced in collaboration with OpenAI earlier this year," said Dustin Snell, SVP of Agentic Solutions at Automation Anywhere.

The broader Autonomous Finance suite now includes more than 55 AI agents covering over 100 task types across 10-plus finance sub-functions. Organizations can start with accounts payable automation and expand into additional workflows as needs evolve, providing a phased path to transformation.
