Wistron Corporation launched its first U.S. manufacturing facility on July 22, 2026, a $700 million investment in Fort Worth, Texas dedicated to building advanced AI servers for Nvidia. The Taiwanese technology service provider's shares surged 9.7% in Taipei trading following the announcement, according to CNBC.

The 324,000-square-foot D1 AI smart facility currently manufactures Nvidia's GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip, an advanced AI processing platform. Production will expand to include Nvidia's Vera Rubin Superchip, designed to power next-generation AI computing infrastructure.

Expanding domestic AI manufacturing capacity

The Fort Worth plant represents a significant expansion of AI server assembly and testing capabilities on U.S. soil. The facility will produce systems that integrate into Nvidia's DSX infrastructure, enabling deployment of what the companies describe as energy-efficient AI factories at scale.

"In the next couple of years, this location will be one of the most important, as we build AI infrastructure here in the United States," Wistron Chairman Simon Lin stated in the company's press release.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the strategic importance of distributed manufacturing: "Demand for AI factories—the engine of this next industrial revolution—is incredible, and they must be produced everywhere."

Wistron's Texas investment follows a pattern of Taiwanese technology manufacturers establishing significant U.S. operations. TSMC announced the previous week that it would double down on its Arizona investments, signaling sustained commitment to domestic semiconductor production.

Wistron characterized the Fort Worth facility as the core of its U.S. manufacturing operations and described its approach as a new model built on digital manufacturing, energy optimization, and local operations.
