Salesforce and Anthropic Launch Claudeforce Integration

The partnership embeds Claude's AI reasoning into Salesforce workflows and brings CRM data directly into Claude's interface.

Salesforce and Anthropic have announced Claudeforce, a strategic partnership that connects Claude's AI reasoning capabilities with Salesforce's enterprise data platform and workflow infrastructure. The integration, announced August 26, 2026, aims to make enterprise systems accessible to AI agents while maintaining governance and security controls.

How the integration works

The partnership launches with Salesforce in Claude, a plugin featuring 37 prebuilt sales skills that allow users to interact with Salesforce data directly from Claude's interface. These capabilities include meeting preparation, deal health reviews, and pipeline analysis—all powered by Claude's reasoning while routing actions through Salesforce to enforce business rules.

The integration works bidirectionally. Claude serves as a reasoning model within Salesforce's Agentforce platform, powering features like Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker. Through Amazon Bedrock, Claude operates within the Salesforce Trust Boundary, enabling regulated industries to deploy the AI while keeping data secure.

Administrators connect Salesforce in Claude once at the organizational level, with authentication and permissions managed centrally. Individual sellers gain immediate access without per-user configuration.

Slack as the connective layer

Slack functions as the workspace where the integration comes together. Claude becomes the default model for Slack AI and Slackbot, allowing teams to reason through decisions and execute Salesforce actions without switching platforms. According to the announcement, Slackbot has already driven 8.1 million hours of annualized productivity gains for Salesforce employees, more than doubling quarter-over-quarter.

Why it matters

This partnership represents a shift in how enterprise software architectures handle AI. Rather than requiring users to navigate traditional interfaces, the integration allows AI agents to access data, workflows, and business logic directly through what Salesforce calls AIforce—a system using MCP servers, APIs, and CLI tools. The approach addresses a fundamental tension in enterprise AI: probabilistic models need deterministic systems to take reliable action, while rigid software systems lack reasoning capabilities. By combining Claude's language understanding with Salesforce's structured data and governance frameworks, the partnership attempts to bridge that gap at scale.

Mutual adoption strategy

Both companies are deploying each other's technologies internally. Salesforce uses Claude as its preferred AI model across Slack AI, Agentforce, and development tools, with plans to make Claude Code and Claude Enterprise available to all developers and knowledge workers. Anthropic has adopted Salesforce as its CRM and uses Slack as its internal collaboration platform, supported by Salesforce Shield, Backup, and Sandboxes for security and development.

Availability

Salesforce in Claude is available to select pilot customers now, with an open beta expected in September 2026. Additional prebuilt skills will launch in late 2026, according to details first reported by Salesforce.
