The collaboration will integrate Augury's Reliability Agent with Rockwell's Fiix MAX maintenance assistant and broader software portfolio, creating what the companies describe as a connected reliability workflow that spans from early problem detection through maintenance execution.

Why it matters

Manufacturers collect vast amounts of equipment data but struggle to act on it effectively. Rockwell's 11th annual State of Smart Manufacturing Report found that manufacturers use only 43 percent of the data they collect. This partnership targets that execution gap by automating the handoff between systems that identify machine health problems and systems that schedule repairs—potentially reducing downtime and preventing failures that disrupt production.

How the Integration Works

The planned integration centers on connecting two AI agents with distinct but complementary functions. Augury's Reliability Agent continuously monitors machine conditions, identifies emerging equipment issues, and recommends corrective actions based on its analysis. Rockwell's Fiix MAX then translates those recommendations into maintenance workflows, work orders, and execution activities within the Fiix computerized maintenance management system.

This connection is designed to compress the time between identifying a potential equipment failure and initiating the maintenance response. It also provides maintenance teams with greater context for prioritizing work and allocating resources.

The integrated workflow supports machine condition analysis, recommended corrective actions, maintenance planning, work order creation, execution coordination, and continuous improvement tracking. Production Context Adds Decision Intelligence

Rockwell's FactoryTalk Optix platform adds another layer by connecting machine health information with production data. This allows manufacturers to assess equipment risks alongside production schedules, asset criticality, and potential throughput impacts.

Rather than responding to equipment alerts in isolation, maintenance teams can prioritize activities based on their likely effect on overall plant performance. This approach extends industrial AI beyond predictive maintenance by integrating reliability decisions with daily production operations.

Toward Agentic Maintenance Workflows

The partnership represents a foundation for what the companies call agentic AI workflows—systems where specialized agents perform different but coordinated functions across reliability and maintenance processes. Instead of generating isolated alerts that require manual follow-up, the integrated approach is designed to coordinate analysis, recommendations, work management, and execution with reduced manual intervention.

The effectiveness of this model will depend on data quality, governance of AI-generated recommendations, and appropriate human oversight, particularly for decisions involving safety, production risk, or critical assets.
