VAST Data, CrowdStrike Integrate Security for AI Data Access
Expanded partnership embeds Falcon platform into VAST AI OS to monitor who and what touches enterprise data flowing into models and agents.

VAST Data and CrowdStrike are deepening their collaboration to address a security gap that widens as companies feed more sensitive information into AI systems and grant autonomous agents broader data access.
The companies are embedding CrowdStrike's Falcon security platform directly into the VAST AI Operating System, creating visibility into not just the infrastructure running AI workloads but also the enterprise data being consumed by models and agents. The integration enables organizations to monitor which users and which AI systems are accessing proprietary information.
The expanding attack surface
The security challenge stems from AI's growing appetite for company data. As organizations move beyond experimental projects and deploy AI agents with autonomy to retrieve and act on information, they create new pathways for attackers to exploit. Traditional infrastructure security no longer covers the full threat landscape when AI systems themselves become data consumers.
VAST AI OS consolidates storage, databases, and data processing on a single platform designed for data-intensive workloads. CrowdStrike, founded in 2011 as an endpoint security company, has expanded Falcon into cloud security, identity protection, and more recently AI-specific threats.
Technical implementation
The partnership includes several integration points. CrowdStrike's Falcon sensor now runs natively on VAST AI OS to detect suspicious activity at the data layer—a capability already available to customers.
VAST is also connecting its audit logs to CrowdStrike Falcon Next-Gen SIEM, allowing security teams to correlate data access patterns with threat intelligence from across the enterprise. This gives investigators context when evaluating potential incidents.
A third integration links VAST InsightEngine, which prepares data for AI applications, with CrowdStrike Falcon Guardian. Falcon Guardian monitors this data preparation pipeline for security issues, including sensitive information that shouldn't reach AI models. The system can identify personally identifiable information before it enters training data and detect AI-specific attacks like prompt injection and jailbreak attempts.
Why it matters
Companies are increasingly using proprietary and sensitive data to differentiate their AI capabilities, but this creates concentration risk. A breach at the data layer could expose information across multiple AI applications simultaneously. As VAST CEO Renen Hallak noted, securing servers is insufficient when the critical question becomes who—or what autonomous system—is accessing data and where that information travels once AI applications begin using it.
The Falcon sensor integration is generally available now, while the SIEM and Guardian connections remain in private preview. The companies plan to demonstrate the technology in an Nvidia-powered AI factory environment.
This represents the second phase of a partnership that began in February, when VAST and CrowdStrike first announced plans to integrate Falcon into the VAST Data Platform. The current expansion brings CrowdStrike's security capabilities deeper into VAST's AI-focused products.
