SoundHound AI Finalizes Enterprise Expansion Through LivePerson Deal

SoundHound AI has completed its acquisition of LivePerson, immediately expanding its enterprise footprint to include 25 Fortune 100 companies and adding more than 750 patents to its intellectual property portfolio, according to a company announcement first reported by Globe Newswire.

The Santa Clara-based voice and agentic AI company simultaneously appointed John Collins as Chief Financial Officer of the combined organization, which now operates with a debt-free balance sheet.

Integration Strategy Centers on Unified Platform

The acquisition brings together LivePerson's enterprise digital messaging infrastructure with SoundHound's voice AI technology. LivePerson's platform will be integrated into OASYS, SoundHound's Orchestrated Agent System, creating what the company describes as an end-to-end customer engagement solution operating across voice, web, mobile, SMS, and social channels.

"This merger represents a defining moment for the new agentic AI era," said Keyvan Mohajer, CEO and co-founder of SoundHound AI. "Now global brands have a single, unified engine to power intelligent customer interactions — scaling SoundHound's reach to serve every enterprise, on every channel, at an unprecedented level."

Financial Position and Revenue Targets

The combined entity enters the market with what SoundHound characterizes as a strong financial foundation, free of debt. The company projects it can generate more than $500 million in future revenue from its existing customer base alone through expanded cross-selling capabilities.

These projections align with broader market forecasts. Gartner predicts enterprise spending on agentic AI software will reach $985 billion by 2030, a market the combined company is now positioned to address with expanded scale across key enterprise verticals.

New CFO to Focus on Profitability Path

John Collins joins SoundHound AI following what the company described as an extensive executive search. In his CFO role, Collins will concentrate on accelerating the path to sustainable profitability while maintaining growth momentum and disciplined capital allocation.

The appointment signals the combined company's intention to balance aggressive market expansion with financial discipline as it integrates two substantial enterprise operations.

Why it matters

This acquisition represents a significant consolidation in the enterprise AI customer engagement space, combining voice and text-based AI capabilities under one platform. For enterprises already invested in either SoundHound or LivePerson technology, the merger creates both integration opportunities and potential vendor consolidation benefits. The debt-free structure and Fortune 100 customer access give the combined entity unusual flexibility to compete against larger cloud platform providers entering the same market.

Details of the transaction were first reported by Globe Newswire in a company press release.
