SNP and Palantir Target Test Data Automation for SAP Migrations
The partnership will embed AI-powered test data selection into SNP's Kyano platform to reduce manual work in complex SAP transformation projects.
Partnership Focuses on Migration Testing Bottleneck
SNP and Palantir have launched a strategic partnership to apply AI to one of the most labor-intensive parts of SAP transformation programs: selecting test data for migration validation. The companies announced the collaboration on July 8 at SNP's Transformation World event in Heidelberg, Germany.
The first product from the partnership, called Test Data Proposal, will be integrated into SNP's Kyano platform. The tool uses Palantir's Ontology and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) to automatically propose test data sets that match customer test cases, a task that typically requires significant manual effort from project teams.
SAP migration projects depend on more than moving data between systems. Teams must validate that transformed data, business processes, and customizations work correctly before go-live. That validation requires identifying representative test scenarios and the underlying data needed to execute them. SNP and Palantir are addressing this preparation layer first, rather than positioning the partnership as a broad AI solution for all SAP program activities.
Why it matters
Test data selection is a narrow but critical bottleneck in SAP transformations. Automating this step could compress timelines and reduce risk in programs where delays often stem from manual preparation work rather than technical migration issues. For enterprises moving to SAP Cloud ERP, faster and more predictable testing cycles translate directly to lower program costs and shorter business disruption windows.
Broader Context for SAP Modernization
The SNP-Palantir partnership builds on work SAP and Palantir announced at SAP Sapphire in May, where Palantir AIP was positioned as part of SAP's AI-supported migration tooling. SAP has said customers can use Palantir AIP alongside SAP's own migration assistants for analysis, planning, remediation, testing, and impact assessment in SAP Cloud ERP transformations.
SNP brings specialized migration capabilities to that broader market push. The company has more than 3,000 customers globally and has completed approximately 15,000 SAP transformation projects. Its Kyano platform and Bluefield approach focus on restructuring and modernizing enterprise data in SAP environments.
Jens Amail, CEO of SNP, said organizations are looking for new ways to increase speed, efficiency, and quality in large-scale SAP transformations. Sameer Kirtane, Head of US Commercial at Palantir, cited SNP's track record in delivering predictable, compliant, and auditable outcomes as a driver for the partnership.
Agentic AI Layer for Active Projects
SNP also introduced Kyano Lorna at the same event, described as an agentic AI layer for the Kyano platform. Lorna is designed to support active transformation projects by scanning SAP system data, identifying risks, generating transformation rules, accelerating root cause analysis, and assisting with data verification.
The partnership targets customers running mission-critical SAP transformation work where security, compliance, and auditability are central requirements. SNP said the collaboration will support customers across all types of SAP projects, including large-scale moves to SAP Cloud ERP applications.
