Salesforce and Anthropic unveil Claudeforce AI sales plugin

The integration embeds live CRM data into Claude with 37 prebuilt skills for pipeline management, meeting prep, and deal analysis.

Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce on Wednesday, a strategic partnership that embeds Salesforce customer data and workflows directly into Anthropic's Claude chatbot through a plugin designed specifically for sales teams.

The plugin launches with 37 prebuilt sales skills developed jointly by both companies. These cover core sales functions including meeting preparation, deal health reviews, and pipeline management. Sales professionals can query live CRM data, automate pipeline updates, and execute governed actions without leaving the Claude interface, according to the companies.

How the integration works

The integration runs on AIforce, Salesforce's enterprise framework that connects business data and workflows to AI agents through MCP servers, APIs, and command-line tools. Administrators connect the plugin once, with authentication and permissions automatically applied across the entire team—eliminating the need for individual user setup.

Salesforce in Claude is currently available to select pilot customers, with an open beta planned for September 2026. The companies said additional prebuilt skills will roll out later this year.

Why it matters

This partnership represents a significant deepening of enterprise AI integration beyond simple chatbot interfaces. By embedding structured business logic and permissioned data access directly into a conversational AI tool, Salesforce and Anthropic are addressing one of the core challenges of enterprise AI adoption: connecting powerful language models to the systems where actual business operations happen. The scale of Salesforce's commitment is substantial—CEO Marc Benioff previously disclosed the company was on track to spend $300 million on Anthropic tokens in 2026, primarily for software coding.

Broader partnership details

The collaboration extends beyond the sales plugin. Claude now serves as the default AI model for Slack, powering Slackbot and a new feature called Claude Tag for team decision-making. Claude is also available inside Agentforce—Salesforce's AI agent platform—through Amazon Bedrock, keeping customer data within Salesforce's security perimeter.

The two companies have become strategic customers of each other. Salesforce uses Claude across its engineering organization, while Anthropic uses Salesforce as its CRM and Slack for internal collaboration.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei told CNBC that permission management was a major development focus. The companies jointly created what they call Enterprise Frontier Safeguards—protections designed to preserve customer data privacy and constrain AI behavior within defined boundaries.

Market response

Salesforce stock climbed 12% in after-hours trading Wednesday. The partnership announcement coincided with the company's fiscal second-quarter earnings release, which showed revenue of $11.35 billion, up 11% year over year. Salesforce raised its full-year revenue guidance by $200 million and reported that combined annual recurring revenue from Agentforce and Data Cloud AI products reached nearly $3.9 billion, reflecting growth of more than 210% versus the prior year.

Salesforce holds an equity stake in Anthropic, and the company's second-quarter net income included a $2.6 billion investment gain tied in part to that position.

The details were first reported by Quartz.
