PTC expands AI capabilities across manufacturing software suite

PTC has introduced a comprehensive set of product innovations centered on artificial intelligence and data connectivity for manufacturers, the company announced at its PTC NEXT Chicago event. The release includes two new cross-portfolio products, an AI platform, 12 AI agents, 10 new integrations, and over 100 enhancements spanning computer-aided design, product lifecycle management, application lifecycle management, and service lifecycle management solutions.

The centerpiece launches are PTC Orbit and PTC Jetstream, both cloud-native solutions addressing persistent challenges in manufacturing operations. PTC Orbit creates a unified asset record by connecting data from PLM, ERP, CRM, IoT, EAM, and FSM systems, then applies AI to maintain data quality and surface insights across the enterprise. PTC Jetstream tackles collaboration bottlenecks by enabling internal and external teams to share, review, and capture traceable feedback while maintaining integration with PLM, ALM, and CAD systems.

Why it matters

Fragmented product data creates cascading problems for manufacturers: delayed time-to-market, quality issues, rising complexity costs, and compliance difficulties. By establishing what PTC calls an "Intelligence Layer" across its portfolio, the company is positioning AI not as a standalone feature but as connective tissue that makes existing product data more accessible and actionable. The twice-yearly PTC NEXT release cadence also gives customers predictable planning windows for digital transformation initiatives.

Major updates across product lines

PTC's Creo CAD solution gained AI-assisted engineering capabilities focused on productivity improvements, along with expanded support for model-based definition, composite design, and electrification. The Onshape cloud platform added AI-assisted design feedback, robotics simulation, and ITAR/EAR compliance support for government applications.

On the lifecycle management side, Windchill PLM received a modernized interface, AI-assisted workflows, and strengthened digital thread connectivity across design, manufacturing, and service engineering. Arena PLM enhanced its AI-assisted search and component risk management capabilities. Codebeamer ALM advanced its AI-powered assistance and configuration management features.

Service-focused products also saw significant updates. ServiceMax field service management introduced trusted AI controls, adaptive scheduling automation, and intelligent work plan dependencies. Servigistics service supply chain optimization added AI-powered intelligent assistants and machine learning forecasting.

Integration ecosystem expands

PTC announced 10 new integrations designed to connect its products with each other and with external systems. Notable additions include Windchill connectors to Onshape, ServiceMax, and ERP systems, as well as connections to NVIDIA Omniverse and Isaac Sim for digital twin and robotics simulation workflows. The company also introduced an Onshape connector to Altium 365 for electronic product development.

"Every innovation we launch at PTC NEXT is designed to help our customers move faster, improve access to product data, and accelerate their transformations with the Intelligent Product Lifecycle," said Neil Barua, CEO of PTC.

The company has established PTC NEXT as a twice-yearly innovation launch event with spring and fall seasons, consolidating major product releases into predictable windows. PTC NEXT Chicago took place June 9-10, 2026, at the Swissôtel Chicago. The company also launched an on-demand experience hub for ongoing access to product innovation news.

Boston-based PTC employs over 7,000 people and supports more than 30,000 customers globally. These details were first reported in a company announcement.
