Automated implementation targets capital markets efficiency

San Francisco-based mortgage fintech Polly has deployed agentic AI across its entire capital markets platform, automating processes from initial setup through pricing, execution, and settlement. The company announced Wednesday that lenders can now reach production-ready status in four to six weeks—a significant reduction from the months-long implementations common in the industry.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted Polly patents covering the agentic AI framework that powers this acceleration, with additional applications pending. The technology represents an expansion of capabilities the company first introduced with its cloud-native Product, Pricing and Eligibility engine in 2021.

Why it matters

Mortgage capital markets operations have historically depended on manual configuration and human-intensive setup processes. By automating these workflows with AI agents that can work in parallel, Polly is addressing a bottleneck that has kept lenders locked into legacy systems or facing extended deployment timelines. The compressed implementation window could lower switching costs and enable faster responses to market conditions—particularly relevant as lenders face margin pressure and seek operational efficiencies.

How the accelerated process works

Polly's approach begins before contracts are signed. The company's Jumpstart program walks prospective customers through approximately 80 percent of platform configuration during the pre-signature phase. This front-loaded work means lenders arrive at contract execution with much of the groundwork already complete.

Once a lender signs on, Polly Implementation takes over. According to the company, AI handles configuration tasks in parallel rather than sequentially, freeing implementation consultants to focus on strategic planning, complex edge cases, and change management rather than routine setup work.

The timeline is structured in phases: by day 11, the AI has generated what Polly describes as a complete framework of best-practice scenarios organized by channel. By day 24, the platform has been validated against predefined success criteria and is ready for production deployment.

Expanding the AI footprint

The agentic AI now operates across every stage of Polly's platform. Beyond implementation, it supports pricing engine operations, execution workflows, and settlement processes—all areas where mortgage capital markets teams have traditionally relied on manual intervention and spreadsheet-based analysis.

Polly founder and CEO Adam Carmel characterized agentic AI as "the most consequential shift our industry has seen" and said customer partners are already operating within the expanded framework. The company indicated it continues to invest in applied AI research and development, with additional capabilities planned for release in coming weeks.

The focus remains on mortgage capital markets workflows that have historically been manual and time-intensive, suggesting further automation of tasks currently performed by capital markets analysts and operations teams.
