Pipedrive Acquires Outfunnel to Embed Marketing Automation
The CRM provider will integrate the Estonian startup's data synchronization technology as native features rather than a marketplace app.
Pipedrive has acquired Outfunnel, an Estonian sales and marketing automation startup whose integration became the highest-rated application on Pipedrive's marketplace. The CRM provider plans to rebuild Outfunnel's data synchronization capabilities as native platform features rather than maintaining them as a separate add-on.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Why it matters
Small and midsize businesses typically manage sales and marketing on disconnected platforms, forcing teams to manually reconcile customer data or accept incomplete visibility. By embedding proven integration technology directly into its core product, Pipedrive is removing configuration friction that has historically kept sales and marketing systems siloed—a shift that could accelerate adoption of unified workflows among its 105,000+ customers.
From marketplace app to platform feature
Outfunnel serves more than 500 businesses by synchronizing customer information between Pipedrive and marketing platforms including Mailchimp and Klaviyo. The technology provides a unified view of customer activity across sales and marketing touchpoints, but until now has required businesses to discover, install and manage it as a third-party integration.
Pipedrive CEO Paulo Cunha said the acquisition addresses a fundamental limitation. "A CRM that doesn't connect with your marketing tools is only solving half the problem," he said, noting that while Outfunnel already kept sales and marketing data synchronized in real time, customers still needed to manage a separate application. Building the functionality directly into Pipedrive will make connected workflows a standard platform capability.
Team and transition
The acquisition brings Outfunnel co-founder Andrus Purde back to Pipedrive, where he previously served as Head of Marketing during the company's early growth phase. Purde will return as a consultant supporting the integration team, while Outfunnel's four employees join Pipedrive as full-time staff. Purde's brother, Urmas Purde, was one of Pipedrive's five original co-founders.
Andrus Purde said fragmented sales and marketing systems have long frustrated businesses, and joining Pipedrive will allow the team to address that challenge at greater scale.
Outfunnel will continue operating during a transition period without service disruptions for existing customers. Pipedrive plans to rebuild Outfunnel's core functionality as native features over the coming months.
