Pennsylvania Man Charged With 600+ Counts in AI Child Pornography Case
Montgomery County investigation uncovered hidden cameras, storage devices, and AI-generated sexual content involving minors.

Pennsylvania Man Faces Hundreds of Charges for AI-Generated Sexual Content
A 41-year-old Montgomery County man is facing more than 600 criminal charges in connection with an investigation involving AI-generated pornography and secret recordings, according to CBS News Philadelphia.
John Ohler Jr. has been charged with over 200 counts of videotaping or depicting a child in sexual acts on a computer, plus more than 200 additional counts of child pornography possession. The criminal complaint alleges Ohler secretly recorded people in public spaces and created AI-generated sexual videos depicting numerous individuals, including minors.
How the Investigation Began
The case originated in October 2025 when Ohler's estranged wife reported to Lower Providence Township police that he had sent a sexually explicit photo of her to an unknown person. She immediately filed a police report after the incident.
As investigators pursued the complaint, they discovered more than 100 digital storage devices, hidden cameras, and recording equipment at Ohler's residence. Police also uncovered multiple AI-generated sexual videos during their search.
In an exclusive interview with CBS News Philadelphia, Ohler's estranged wife said she recognized approximately a dozen women depicted in the videos but could not identify many others. She chose to speak publicly because she believes additional victims may exist.
"I had absolutely no idea that any of that was going on," she told the station. "It's definitely been hard to come to the realization that this is who I was married to and who I was raising a child with."
Legal Proceedings Underway
Ohler was arrested in April and subsequently posted bond, according to court documents. He is scheduled to return to court in July.
Marty Mullaney, Ohler's attorney, provided a statement to CBS News Philadelphia: "Mr. Ohler respectfully disagrees with the commonwealth's allegations and looks forward to having the evidence presented in Court, where the true facts of the case can be established."
Why It Matters
This case represents one of the most extensive criminal prosecutions involving AI-generated sexual content to date. As generative AI tools become more accessible and sophisticated, law enforcement agencies are confronting new challenges in prosecuting crimes that blend traditional offenses like voyeurism with emerging technologies. The scale of charges—over 600 counts—and the combination of physical recording devices with AI manipulation tools illustrates how perpetrators may use multiple methods to create illicit content. The case also highlights the difficulty victims face in identifying when they've been targeted, as AI-generated material may not require direct physical access to subjects.
