Five robotics startups raise $230M for cargo, warehouse automation

Funding rounds span autonomous maritime vessels, cargo planes, humanoid platforms, and material handling systems as investors bet on logistics innovation.

Five robotics companies collectively raised more than $230 million in recent funding rounds, signaling sustained investor appetite for automation across logistics chains—from warehouse floors to ocean routes to cargo aviation.

The largest round went to Maven Robotics, which secured $100 million in Series A financing led by RoboStrategy after emerging from stealth. Maven claims to have built a full-stack general purpose robotic platform combining hardware, software, and AI for industrial applications. The company has already deployed systems with multiple customers and projects it will surpass one million hours of automated work by the end of 2027.

Autonomous cargo planes prepare for pilotless flights

Poseidon Aerospace raised $60 million in Series A funding from TQ Ventures to advance its autonomous cargo aircraft. The company is preparing for its first pilotless test flights of its Egret plane this year. Unlike companies that sell technology to existing carriers, Poseidon plans to operate its own delivery service once the aircraft become operational. The funding will support flight testing, establish the company's first production line, and expand hiring.

Warehouse and maritime applications draw capital

Vecna Robotics closed a $31 million Series D round led by Unless to scale its autonomous pallet jacks and forklifts. CEO Karl Iagnemma emphasized that customers seek flexible automation that adapts as workflows change rather than single-task solutions. The company will use proceeds to expand its team, enhance go-to-market efforts, and advance technical capabilities.

Bulwark Dynamics raised $6.8 million in seed funding from SBI US Gateway Fund, Archetype Ventures, and others for autonomous maritime vessels designed to deliver supplies to contested areas without human crews. The startup will direct funds toward production of its Carvel vessel, addressing challenges like those seen in contested shipping lanes such as the Strait of Hormuz.

Antioch secured $32 million in Series A funding from Greylock for simulation software that accelerates robotic development by combining learned world models with classical simulation techniques. This marks the company's second round this year following an $8.5 million seed raise in April. The capital will support platform expansion and team growth.

Why it matters

The concentration of funding across different logistics segments reflects a broader shift toward end-to-end automation in supply chains. While warehouse robotics has matured into a proven market, newer frontiers like autonomous cargo aviation and maritime transport are attracting significant capital despite longer development timelines and regulatory hurdles. The divergence between full-stack providers like Maven and specialized point solutions will test whether industrial customers prefer integrated platforms or best-of-breed component approaches.
