Collibra Unveils Three AI Governance Tools to Combat Agent Errors

Collibra announced three new products designed to address what it calls the "hallucination tax"—the hidden costs organizations face when AI agents produce inaccurate outputs. The September 23 launch includes Collibra Maestro, Live Map, and Guardian Agents with Agent Contracts, all aimed at reducing errors, wasted productivity, and trust erosion as enterprises scale AI deployments.

The timing reflects widespread enterprise challenges. According to Collibra's 2026 Hallucination Tax Report, conducted by The Harris Poll and released September 16, 76% of data and AI decision-makers encountered critical roadblocks moving agents from pilot to production over the past year.

Why it matters

As enterprises deploy hundreds or thousands of AI agents across operations, the governance gap becomes a business liability. Manual verification consumes staff hours—51% of decision-makers report significant time spent reviewing agent outputs before deployment, rising to 64% at organizations with $100 million-plus revenue. These new tools represent an attempt to automate governance at the scale required for production AI fleets, not just individual pilots.

Maestro automates governance workflows

Collibra Maestro enables governance teams to build no-code agents through a visual interface, converting weeks of manual work into minutes. The suite includes Maestro Studio, where users configure agents with specific permissions and tool access grounded in certified knowledge sources. Teams interact with these agents through Maestro Assistant, a chat interface using natural language. Out-of-the-box templates accelerate agent creation without requiring technical resources typically unavailable to governance teams.

Live Map provides persistent context graphs

Developed by Deasy Labs, Collibra's unstructured data unit, Live Map creates a context graph showing how entities across company documents relate and evolve. Rather than forcing agents to reconstruct these relationships for each query, Live Map makes context directly available for retrieval. The product addresses a pain point identified in Collibra's research: 87% of decision-makers say their teams regularly re-verify that agent context remains accurate and current.

Guardian Agents enforce runtime controls

Agent Contracts establish machine-readable controls that scale across entire agent fleets, with rules varying by function, risk classification, or operating context. Guardian Agents then supervise individual agent behavior in real time, supporting interventions ranging from flagging issues to blocking unauthorized actions. This extends governance to agents built outside Collibra's platform—addressing the reality that most enterprise AI agents exist across multiple systems and vendors.

"The much bigger challenge is everything else," said Felix Van de Maele, Collibra's CEO. "Agents your teams bought, built on other platforms, or stood up without governance in mind are all subject to the hallucination tax."

Industry certification milestone

Collibra became the first data and AI governance platform company to achieve AIUC-1 certification, validating Maestro Assistant against requirements for AI security, safety, and reliability. The standard covers data privacy, security, unauthorized actions, monitoring, and human oversight. Since May, Collibra's AI Command Center has included an AIUC-1 assessment tool helping organizations identify gaps and align with the standard.

Collibra Maestro is available now, with Maestro Studio and Maestro Assistant in public preview. Agent Contracts and Guardian Agents will be available through AI Command Center in October. Live Map is opening to a limited group of design partners this quarter.
